Another good idea is to request that guests bring one of their favorite recipes, to start a recipe box for the bride. The recipe cards and instructions should be sent in with the invitations so that guests have time copy one over. It is good to send a spare card to each guest just in case. Pick up a recipe box to fit the cards. At the shower ask each person to tell which recipe they chose, and the reason they chose it. It makes a great icebreaker and will be remembered each time the bride uses the recipe box.

Assign a person to write down gift information and collect gift receipts. Record all items, and be sure to note all names if a group presented a gift. Another popular shower tradition is to save the bows from the gifts, attach them to the top of a paper plate, and give it to the bride to carry at her rehearsal.

Popularity of couple showers has also increased and is a nice option for new homeowners. Remember to be creative and have fun. Always keep the brides wishes in mind, and act on her behalf. There are many great books, Internet sites, and friends you can solicit information from.
